Langdyke chair Richard Astle – awarded a British Empire Medal in the King’s New Year Honours List – has been presented with his medal.
In a ceremony in Cambridge the medal was presented to him by Julie Spence, the Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire. He was joined at the event by members of his family.
He got the honour for his services to nature (he has held many roles including being chair and a founding member of Langdyke) and charity – in particular his work for helping victims of the Ukrainian war.
