Weekend helpers appeal

A series of weekend work parties are being launched to give people who are not available on week-days the chance to take part in community nature projects.

Most of Langdyke’s current work parties take place during the working week – Monday at Etton and Thursday at Swaddywell – meaning the majority of our volunteers can only attend because they don’t have work commitments.

Now plans are in hand to launch work parties at weekends with a whole range of projects  – many of them to support the important John Clare Countryside programme which involves  various nature recovering projects.

If you would like the chance to get out and about in the countryside and support nature at the same time then you may wish to volunteer.  The tasks will suit all types of people and cover a wide range of abilities and although there are set start and finish times volunteers can dip in and out as they wish.

These are the first provisional dates and venues:

Saturday November 20
Walcott Estate work party stream maintenance.

Helpston work party tree and bulb planting, 10am meet near the Bluebell.
