This is one of the great new views of Langdyke’s Vergette Meadow water area.
Three new viewing platforms have been created along the Green Lane bridlepath side of the Etton reserve. This is what you can see looking through the main one.
A ramp leads up to the largest one, making access easier, and screens with specially cut holes have been put in place for visitors to look through and view the nature that the pit offers.
The other two are at intervals along the bridle path.
The move means that Vergette Meadow – which is currently unlocked and open for members to walk around – and the pit area can now be seen from three sides.
The work has been made possible by a generous anonymous donation and the project has been led by Steve and Liz Lonsdale. The work was carried out by Alfresco Landscaping.
