Ready for nesting season

Langdyke volunteers have been getting ready for the nesting season at all of the Trust’s  reserves.

Special rafts designed to attract nesting terns have again been deployed on the water at the Etton Maxey reserve in the hope of attracting attention from the birds.

Work on clearing out the Sandmartin nest box at Vergette meadow has also been done. Sand has been used to put into the entrance tubes into the box to make them more attracting as potential nests. At least one of the nest boxes was used last year.

And all of the various nest boxes at all of the sites have been cleaned out as part of the annual spring clean ready for the nesting season.
