The Langdyke Countryside Trust annual general meeting will include a chance to enjoy a walk and visit a couple of our reserves this year.
It will be held in the barn at Etton High Meadow on the afternoon of Saturday July 16.
The event – which will include the official annual business items and presentations about the Trust’s future work, in particular around some important and exciting new projects – will also give members the chance to explore nature around the site.
It will start at 2pm. Car parking is available at the site which will be signposted. It is on the road from Etton to Maxey, about 100 yards from the little hump back bridge into Etton. Members are asked to drive with extreme caution on arrival. The weather forecast is for a very hot day so the main meeting will be held in the shade of the barn
We will be providing some light refreshments but as a conservation organisation we are keen to avoid dishing out plastic bottles of water so we ask that you bring your own.
There will be a walk and a chance to visit the nearby Vergette Wood Meadow (main picture, above) to view the wildflowers and to browse the High Meadow community orchard and the Keymer wildflower meadow. None of these areas are generally open to public access.
There will also be an exhibition organised by the Artists in Residence and some light refreshments. Members are being invited to bring a pop up chair for the meeting and a picnic if they wish to stay on afterwards and enjoy the nature.
This will be the first annual meeting since the outbreak of Covid 19 which members have been able to attend. The event has been held online for the last two years.
