Langdyke has a unique event exclusively for Trust members – a tour of the 6.5acre historic walled garden and wildlife area at Burghley House.
This special invitation for Langdyke members will allow participants to go to an area that is not normally open to the public in a tour led by head gardener Joe Whitehead.

The event, on Wednesday, March 30 at 6pm, will take you to the heart of the garden where John Clare worked for a short period.
The garden is not currently open to the public so it is a rare opportunity to visit part of the Burghley Estate and to hear the head gardener talk about the estate’s plans for a wildlife garden.
Joe has worked in horticulture his whole working life and is an “obsessed walled kitchen gardener.”
The Burghley walled garden is the fourth Joe has managed having been involved in other restoration and renovation work.
Joe worked as an under gardener at Burghley twenty years ago for five years before going to train at RHS Wisley.
From there he spent ten years at different gardens in Norfolk before a period of running his own design/maintenance and plant nursery business before returning to Burghley.
