Langdyke is looking for volunteers for the first three weekend work parties to carry out tasks on the new Christ’s College Nature Reserve.
The work parties will particularly appeal to people who have full time employment and cannot attend the Monday and Thursday groups which meet on the Trust’s reserves.
The volunteers will carry out a wide range of tasks including shrubbery clearance, fence repairing, cutting paths and carrying out survey work.
The work parties will take place on:
- Saturday, December 14 (1pm-4pm)
- Saturday, January 18 (10am-1pm)
- Saturday, February 8 (1pm-4pm)
All tools will be provided but anyone interested is asked to wear clothing appropriate for the weather conditions, boots (or wellies if it is wet) and bring gardening gloves.
Tasks are likely to include tree and shrub removal and path clearance. Joining instructions will be issued nearer the time but the meeting point is likely to be at the bridge over the Maxey Cut next to the Helpston to Maxey road.
Langdyke chair Richard Astle said: “We hope this weekend work will particularly appeal to people who work full time or have commitments which mean they can’t attend our week-day groups. It is a fantastic opportunity to get out into nature and help us to preserve and enhance the bio diversity of our new nature reserve.”
