Langdyke’s Artists in Residence, Sarah Lambert and Kathryn Parsons announce a range of new creative events for the year ahead ….
We are excited to announce that from April, we’ll be running a special series of creative workshops and walks on Langdyke’s wonderful nature reserves!
From mindful photography and nature crafts to miniature sculptures and cyanotype, these events are inspired by our local nature and heritage! Later in the summer there will be a guided walk on ‘Westings Meadow’ too, when you can hear about the history of this ancient forgotten meadow, and how it has been inspiring our own artwork!
We hope that you’ll join us and enjoy trying something new in a gentle, nature-rich, friendly setting!
The first event is a ‘Walkshop’ on Saturday April 15 at Swaddywell, when we’ll be celebrating spring at this iconic nature reserve! Join us for a mindful photography walk focusing on the wildflowers (suitable for phone-cameras as well as DSLR), and enjoy creating ephemeral spring nature-patterns with the treasures you find! Tickets are by donation (£10 – £20 per person), via Eventbrite
The fees will go to the Artists in Residence, to contribute towards running these events.
These events are open to Langdyke members and non-members. So, because places are limited, we’re offering Langdyke members the chance to book a week ahead of everyone else! You’ll be able to find details of future workshops in your monthly Langdyke newsletters, and also on the website.
All the workshops are suitable for anyone over the age of 12, though children must be supervised by their adult at all times.
We’re hugely looking forward to sharing our love of creativity and Langdyke’s nature and heritage, in these new and exciting ways!
Kathryn and Sarah
Sarah Lambert is Artist in Residence with Langdyke Countryside Trust, specialising in nature photography, and also works as a freelance Ecologist . She’s been visiting Swaddywell for many years and has an intimate knowledge of the plants and animals that live on this special reserve.
Kathryn Parsons has been Artist in Residence with Langdyke since 2019. Kathryn loves leading creative gatherings online and in person, and sharing the stories of our local wildlife and heritage.
