The Covid situation means that the History and Archaeology Group  is  still unable to carry out any meetings or activities that entail close proximity, such as excavation.

But despite this  there have been some signs of life, mainly consolidating the huge bulk of finds accumulated from the thirty test pits dug across Helpston Parish.

Mike Clatworthy has been beavering away sorting, labelling and reducing storage to take up less room in the cabin and particularly  packing away the more mundane items whilst keeping the better finds out for easy access.

Frieda Gosling and Mike are also making progress with the writing up of the results of the project into a new publication,  due to be available in 2021.

This will join with the two previous books to provide a record of the group’s activities in the area. The offer to help identify any finds made during lockdown still stands , Mike can be contacted on mikeclatworthy@hotmail.co.uk.
